If you would like to omit the dovetail portion and make it a 3/4" straight groove, that is acceptable for the prototype for sure. Testing will be required before I can say if it is possible to omit it from the production run.

I have added the bottom view and tolerance block. I should mention that machine marks are acceptable every surface and a 125 finish is what I was envisioning.

Madmachinist has the right idea. When I saw this, the first thing I thought of was spinning it from aluminum, brazing the two halves together, then polishing. I realize now that the simpler method would be spinning from copper/brass/bronze, soldering the two halves together and nickel plating...

Since your tolerances are pretty tight and the material is aluminum, I'll ask the question: At what temperature will the QC be done? If they're right when the vendor checks them at ~30 degrees, they'll be ~0.002" larger when checked at ~70 degrees. Similar could be said if they're still warm...
