I am looking for a quote for qty 100 parts made from 6063 .875 dia x .058 wall aluminum tube. There will be an ongoing need for these parts. Approximately 500 / year. Tumbled finish, .005 tolerance. The parts are 4" long with 3 grooves (.03 depth) machined into the tube. Drawing attached. Project is funded and need is immediate. Sample parts for validation are a requirement.

Thank you.

Not bidding as I don't have a local source for this material. Irregardless considering tubing can be all over the place in wall thickness, o.d., i.d. dimensions, t.i.r. and straightness you will need to list tolerances to insure usable quality and the best pricing. Someone might be able to use standard tubing without turning the o.d. or boring the i.d. or they might have to use oversized and take outside and inside cuts, that will have a big effect on price.

The tolerance is .005 as indicated in the RFQ. TIR over a 4" length is not a concern for this part. Standard tubing has been used for these parts for many years. No need to turn down or bore the tubing. Typically part number - 68T087 -6063 Alum Round Tube - 144" from Industrial Metal Supply. The process has been cut 3 grooves and part to length. About as simple as it gets.

Is everyone blind? Read post #10 the job has been awarded. Nice that the he posted the job was closed but no one pays attention anyway.
