TITLE: Aluminum Extrusion Struts


DATE: 2/26/06


DESCRIPTION: Two similar 20” long struts made from a standard aluminum extrusion, cut, drilled, milled, and deburred. Anodized black quoted separately.


QTY: 36 of each of two parts, 72 parts in total.


MATERIAL: Provided by supplier. U shaped aluminum extrusion, 3/4” wide base, 3/8” tall legs, 1/8” wall. Example, McMaster part no 9001K43


DRAWING: struts.dwg and struts.dxf, two formats of the same drawing. Units in inches. View of leg side of extrusions. Note mirrored hole pattern, and trimmed legs on left hand strut. Leg trimming does not have to be perfectly flush with base, but should be close. Please note dimensions are on separate layer.


SURFACE FINISH: As extruded, or preferably vibratory finished.


SURFACE COATING: If possible please quote cosmetic black anodizing separately.


EDGE FINISH: Deburred. Safe for handling, preferably vibratory finished.


CLEANLINESS: Must be free of dirt and grease.


TARGET PRICE: $5 to $10 each.


TIMELINE: Please quote within 1 week, deliver within 3 weeks after receipt of purchase order number. The job may be awarded before the end of the week.


SAMPLES: None needed.


TOLERANCES: +/- .010" overall, +/- .005” on hole diameter. Holes are tight clearance holes for 8-32 screws.


QUALITY CONTROL: The following features will be checked within 48 hours of arrival on at least 10% of the pieces:


* Hole sizes


* Mirroring of parts. Parts will be held back-to-back, and inspected for similarity.


* Deburring


SHIPPING: Paid by Inspiration Toolworks, UNLESS the supplier is outside of the continental USA.


INTERNATIONAL SUPPLIERS: If you are supplying from outside the continental USA you MUST include all shipping, taxes, tariffs, brokerage, customs, etc charges IN your quote. No exceptions will be made.
